Arches, canyons, waterfalls, and a lot of snow.
Last Christmas (2016), I planned a trip to Grand Canyon. The idea was to photograph the South Rim and hike to the Supai Village on the adjacent Havasupai Researvation to photograph the waterfalls there. Moab, approximately halfway between Denver and Grand Canyon, was a great place to take a break for the night. The whole trip was amazing. While we were at Grand Canyon, a snowstorm arrived, which was an incredible experience. Here are some photos from that trip.
We drove from Denver to Grand Canyon via Moab, where we got a chance to visit Arches and Canyonlands national parks.
Sunset at False Kiva, Canyonlands National Park.
Sunset from the Desert View Point. South Rim of Grand Canyon. This was probably the best sunset of the whole trip.
Sunrise at Havasu Falls.
Havasu Falls in the morning.
Rushing water in the cascades at the Havasu Falls.
Another view of Havasu Falls. The water was running high after two days of rainy weather. So it was difficult to get to this point. Two dogs gave me great company here!
Bit of an oasis. Navajo Falls in the Havasu Canyon.
Navajo Falls in the morning.
Upper Navajo Falls.
Another view of Havasu Falls.
Grand Canyon sunrise.
Yet another Grand Canyon sunrise.
Snow covered Grand Canyon south rim in the afternoon.
Snowy Grand Canyon in the afternoon.
And another Grand Canyon sunrise.
Got a chance to see the sunrise at The Windows in the Arches National Park, Utah.
