Dunes, mountains, a lake, and a river.
Route of the roadtrip to Death Valley and Mono Lake from San Jose.
During last Christmas break, I drove to the eastern part of California. The first stop was Death Valley. After photographing the dunes, I headed over to Bishop. It's an under-appreciated place on route 395. After photographing Mt. Whitney and the badlands of Alabama Hills, I made a short trip to Mono Lake. Here are a few pictures from that trip.
I did want to make a full loop by driving via Tahoe. But the roads were just bad that way. So I had to trace my route back to Bay Area.
